The Modern Framework for Evaluating NFL Franchises
Not all 10-win teams are built the same. And not all rebuilds are destined to fail.
That’s why we created the FV Triangle™ — a modern football framework designed to measure the true structural health of NFL teams. It’s a blend of analytics, scouting principles, and front-office strategy, shaped by the same foundational logic used to evaluate successful businesses.
At the heart of the model is a 12-layer triangular structure, representing the three core pillars of a franchise:
Inside the triangle lie nine critical internal systems — from Leadership and Talent Evaluation to Analytics and Quarterback stability — each scored individually and weighted to reflect their impact on long-term success.

The Franchise Valuation Score (FVS)
Each NFL team receives a composite score out of 100 — the Franchise Valuation Score — based on the weighted criteria across all 12 layers. These scores allow us to:
◽️Benchmark teams structurally (not just by wins/losses)
◽️Predict sustainable success over a 3-year window
◽️Track quarterly improvement or decline
◽️Spot misalignment in coaching, talent, or spending

What Makes the FV Triangle™ Different?
🧠 Built from inside the league: Criteria influenced by NFLPA report cards, analytics departments, draft models, and real team-building trends.
🔄 Updated quarterly: Like a stock portfolio, team health changes. The FV Triangle evolves in-season.
📈 Forward-looking: This isn’t about power rankings — it’s about projection, alignment, and adaptability.
